Q: Getting started with Yoxel PCM
How do I install and start using Yoxel PCM?
Answer:
Yoxel PCM needs to be connected to your mail server. This will allow it to scan your Inbox to detect incoming requests, and to send outgoing requests and notifications. Here is what you need to do first:
- Make sure you have Java installed on your Windows/Mac/Linux.
- The PCM is still in beta so we recommend to use Java Console to see log messages. Go to Control Panel->Java->Advanced->Java Console and select "show console".
- Launch the application.
- Add Exchange/IMAP/POP account.
- Use menu Menu->Email Accounts to open Accounts window.
- Position your mouse in the white area, and right-click it, then select 'New' menu item.
- Fill out the form (GMail users, would use imap.gmail.com as their IMAP server)
- POP users! Please configure your other mail reading programs to leave messages on the server (at least for some time) so that the Yoxel PCM would have a chance to scan them also.
- IMAP/POP users, also add an SMTP account
- Use menu Menu->Email Accounts, then select [SMTP Account] tab.
- Fill out the form. (GMail users, would use smtp.gmail.com as their SMTP server)
- Initiate synchronization with the mail server.
- Use menu Menu->Synch Email Accounts.
- Check Java console to see if there are any errors.
- Test 'outgoing' request sending.
- Add our support email address 'support@yoxel.com' to contacts (menu Menu->Contacts)
- Add an outgoing request in the bottom panel of the PCM (direct it to support@yoxel.com)
- Then initiate Synch (menu Menu->Synch Email Accounts).
