Q:  How can Owner1 re-assign a request to Owner2?

Once the request has been created, we are unable to re-assign it to another individual.

Could you please let me know if Yoxel might support the following worklow?

- The Submitter sends a request to component Owner 1.
- Owner 1 accepts the request but needs to re-assign it to Owner 2
(his / her peer - not reporting to Owner 1 directly)

How can Owner 1 re-assign the request to Owner 2 or even Submitter as
the original request author?

Answer:

Yoxel uses role based workflows and the default one is quite strict in terms
of who can do what in which state. Yoxel picks up role information from
user profile and product/component profile sections:

- In the products/componets section you define your components and
specify an RnD manager (owner) for each. When a request is filed under
a certain component it is automatically assigned to that owner.

- The owner can actually be a real manager, that is in myYoxel/users
section you can check 'is_manager' option and also specify who reports to him / her
by setting 'reports to' field for all individual reports. When such a real manager
is assigned to be an owner for a component he / she will be able to re-assign
the requests to any of his reports.

** So as an owner1 (owner of Component1) at the moment you have
two options to re-route the request to owner2 (owner of Component2):

a. Re-submit the request under a different component:

To do that choose 'Request more information' action and return the request to the
submitter with your comments "Please re-submit the request under component2"

The submitter then can re-submit it under component2 and the request will be assigned to
owner2.

b. Define real manager users in Yoxel and use them as owners for some
components. They will be able to re-assign the requests to all their reports.

It can even be just one manager responsible for all components and to whom
all other engineers report, then all filed requests will go to him first and
he / she will be able to re-assign them to others as he wishes.

Individual reports can always escalate their requests to their manager if he / she
is the owner of the component.
